Destin Street-Legal Golf Cart Rental Rules

Please review our operational rules and safety policies before booking your low-speed vehicle. All renters and designated operators must meet state regulations and local community guidelines to ensure safety and avoid penalty fees during their stay.

Driver Eligibility & Passenger Safety

• Age Requirement (21+ Only): You must be at least 21 years of age to rent and drive a low-speed vehicle. Allowing anyone under the age of 21 to operate or steer the cart is strictly prohibited.

• Child Booster Seats: Children under 6 years of age are legally required to use an appropriate booster seat when riding in the vehicle.

• Valid License & Insurance: Every designated driver must hold a valid driver license and maintain active auto insurance coverage.

Permitted Roadways & Prohibited Driving Zones

• Strictly No US-98 Driving: Never drive on US-98 (Emerald Coast Parkway). It is completely off-limits for low-speed vehicles. You may only cross US-98 directly at designated, signalized traffic intersections.

• 35 MPH Roads or Lower: Low-speed vehicles can only travel on public roadways with posted speed limits of 35 mph or less.

• No Sidewalks or Beaches: Florida law strictly forbids driving or parking golf carts on sidewalks, multi-use pedestrian paths, and beach sand.

Delivery Boundaries & Service Fees

• Primary Coverage Corridor: Our primary service area spans from McGuire’s Irish Pub in Destin down Scenic Highway 98 to the Silver Sands Premium Outlets in Miramar Beach, including Crystal Beach and Holiday Isle.

• Standard Delivery Fee: A standard $25.00 delivery fee applies to rental drop-offs.

• Holiday Isle Delivery Fee: An additional $25 long-distance delivery fee ($50 total delivery) applies to drop-offs on Holiday Isle, including Sandpiper Cove.

• Preferred Scheduling: Selected delivery and pickup times are preferences rather than exact guarantees. Orders are processed in the sequence received, so please wait until after your scheduled start time before calling for a delivery status update. No refunds are issued for deliveries completed outside preferred windows.

Parking, Fuel & Return Requirements

• Parking Passes & Towing: Renters are responsible for verifying whether their rental property, resort, or condo requires a specific vehicle parking pass. Renters are fully responsible for all towing fees and recovery costs if the cart is towed.

• No Paid Parking Spaces: Do not park low-speed vehicles in municipal or private paid parking stalls that prohibit golf carts or require unauthorized space usage.

• Fuel Level Policy: Your cart arrives with at least half a tank of gas. You must return the vehicle with at least half a tank of fuel.

• Strict 9:00 AM Pickup Availability: The cart must be parked, unobstructed, and accessible at the delivery address by 9:00 AM on the scheduled pickup day. An additional full day will be charged if the vehicle is blocked or unavailable for pickup at 9:00 AM.

Delivery & Route Verification Checklist

• Check with your HOA, resort, or property host to confirm that low-speed vehicles are permitted on-site with assigned parking.

• Map your route to confirm travel between your vacation rental, dining, and public beach access points remains entirely on streets posted at 35 mph or under without driving along US-98.

• Ensure every intended operator in your group is at least 21 years old with a valid driver license.

• Confirm your delivery address to determine whether standard delivery ($25) or the Holiday Isle extended rate ($50 total) applies.

However, certain private developments (including Sandestin, Tops’l, and Destiny by the Sea) strictly ban outside low-speed vehicles.
